These will culminate at AIBTM 2011 in Baltimore, June 2011.

We all want to know, more than ever before, how perceptions, reality and predictions about the future of the economy are affecting decision-makers.

AMEX LogoFutureWatch -  Every year since 2001, MPI, in partnership with American Express, has been asking our members to provide insight on emerging industry trends, including economic and societal developments, that will shape the industry and our world. The result is FutureWatch, the most revealing look at issues that MPI members are facing, and the practical steps they are taking to position meetings and events as an essential resource in addressing the immediate challenges of a tightening economy. 

Meet Your Business Goals: In collaboration with American Business Journals, MPI and One+ created a powerful and relevant tool focused on the performance results of meetings and events. This special section was published and distributed in February 2010 to 250,000 BizJournal readers in 25 major markets around the United States, and features original content from MPI’s award-winning magazine, One+, proving the overall importance of meetings and events as vital tools to help businesses of any size, in any industry meet their business goals in 2010 and beyond.

Business Events Council of Australia: The Role of Business Events - March 2010 research study: "Whilst business events may sometimes run in connection with major events, they operate quite differently, draw on different resources and produce substantially different outcomes."

The Compelling Case for Conferencing (March 2009) This research study reveals compelling data that points to the usefulness of new collaboration and conferencing tools.

Oxford Economics Study Reveals ROI of Business Travel - September 2009 research study establishes the first clear link between business travel and business growth countering the recent political criticism

Canadian Economic Impact Study - Conducted by Maritz Research Canada and the Conference Board of Canada, this study provides data on industry revenues and delegate spending in the Canadian meetings and events sector, and on the direct and indirect benefits that the sector contributes to the Canadian economy.

EventView - co-sponsored by the MPI Foundation, the George P. Johnson Company and the Event Marketing Institute, EventView is an annual report of trends in event marketing across industries by surveyed corporate sales and marketing executives.  With budgets expected to continue contracting, the need for measurement will only increase. EventView provides qualitative and quantitative data to fully articulate the value of events.

2008 MPI Corporate Social Responsibility Survey - In October 2007, MPI conducted a survey on corporate social responsibility to a random group of MPI members. In November 2008, we sent the same survey to a second random group to see what changes, if any, have happened in regard to attitudes, understanding and practices in the community.
